Soon Ae Kim, MPH, Ph D is the Director of the Department of Korea at the Korea Foundation for International Healthcare (KOFIH). KOFIH is an agency for the Official Development Assistance (ODA) program specified in health under the Ministry of Health and Welfare of the Republic of Korea. Dr. Kim leads M&E and research projects at KOFIH.

Prior to joining KOFIH in 2014, she was an epidemiologist and served a scientific member of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) at the International Vaccine Institute (IVI), from 2006 through 2014. She conducted field epidemiology studies including multi-country surveillance for Invasive Pneumococcal Disease in children under five and Community-Acquired Pneumonia for the aged, estimating disease burden of respiratory pathogens in LMICs. She also worked for pharmaceutical companies and contract research organizations. She obtained her master of Environment Health and earned a doctorate of Public Health at the Seoul National University.
